Mythic Path | Aeon |
Enforcing Gaze is a Mythic Ability unlocked exclusively by progressing through the Aeon Mythic Path in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Mythic Abilities are unique abilities bestowed upon Mystic Heroes when they ascend to certain levels on the respective Mythic Path. These powerful abilities are a crucial component to crafting Builds, as they provide benefits that synergize with specific Spells, Feats, Traits, and Classes. You may find the relevant information of the Enforcing Gaze mythic ability on this page.
Enforcing Gaze Effects
At the 3rd rank, Aeon gains the ability to enforce rules on everything around them, giving various benefits to the allies and hindering the enemies. Once activated, this ability lasts until the combat ends, at which point all of the bonuses immediately disappear. Enemies can try to make a Will saving throw to resist the effects of the gaze, receiving a -2 penalty on the throw if they have the Chaotic alignment.
This ability can be used 1 plus mythic rank times per day.
Enforcing Gaze Possible Selections
You can select one Enforcing Gaze at 3rd mythic rank, and another one at each subsequent mythic rank. Note that some abilities become available after reaching a certain Mythic Rank.

Where to Find Enforcing Gaze
- Enforcing Gaze is a mythic ability that can be found under the Aeon Mythic Path. You unlock it at level 3, 5 7 and 9.
Enforcing Gaze Tips & Notes
- Lenses of Prolonged Gaze are an easily-accessible item that will grant an Aeon additional uses of gaze per day.
- You do not have to stay with the gazes you activate in a fight; you can disable a gaze and enable a different gaze. At Mythic Rank 8 where you have infinite uses of gazes, it can be extremely powerful to constantly adjust your gazes to what you need at the time. Plus, because activating a gaze is a free action, it does not cost you any action economy to do this in either real-time or turn-based mode.
- Some gaze-specific tips:
- Because all gazes instantly end when combat is over, the Area of Effect's protection against your own effects can backfire if you are still standing in a bunch of your own area of effects. Make sure to run away as combat draws to a close, or immediately queue up Dismiss Spell casts.
- The Caster Level gaze can be very helpful in meeting the rounding cutoffs of some of the Aeon's own unique spells (especially combined with School Mastery), some of which only gain extra rounds of duration every 4 or every 5 caster levels.
- For players willing to engage in a "throw away" fight for buff purposes, the Caster Level gaze can also be used to hit the duration threshold to trigger Greater Enduring Spells's 24-hour upgrade on round/caster level buffs (which is otherwise hard/impossible to do outside of an Angel or Lich's merged spellbook). To accomplish this, you would need Extend Metamagic (feat or rod) at the least, in addition to at least one other source of bonus caster level, since by itself the gaze can only ever get you to 24 round duration, when Greater Enduring Spells requires 25 plus extend duration metagamic.
- There are some issues at least as of game version 1.3.7 that hinders the effectiveness of some gazes:
- Energy Shield's enemy debuff does not appear to function at all.
- Primordial Magic gaze does not like being deactivated and reactivated with a different Primordial power and will cease working once reactivated.
- Primordial Magic - Support is very weird about what effects it count as a "support" spell. Healing spells are excluded, for example. Shapechange is excluded, as another. In addition, pay attention that the benefit applies only to the second spell cast in a round. As a result, order of spells sometimes matters. For example, Heroic Invocation when used first in the round will be a full-round cast and you cannot cast another support spell in the same turn. However, if you use a valid standard-action support spell first, then Heroic Invocation will be shrunk down into a move action.
- Area of Effect only gets checked the first time a non-instant AoE affects a character. That means if a character is ever actually affected by a non-instant AoE (whether because they were out of range of the gaze or you hadn't activated it yet), they will never be able to protected from it (friendly-cast aoe) or dispel it (enemy-cast aoe) even if they later gain the Area of Effect gaze buff.
What does this do tho? What art the bonuses what are the penalties?
