At 1st level, Elemental Specialist selects one element. He gains the ability to convert elemental spell damage to his chosen element.

At 15th level, his spells of the chosen element also deal half of the damage as untyped damage.

Focused Element is one of many Class Features available in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Class Features are generally passive benefits that characters gain based on their Class but can also sometimes be active Skills that you can use in combat. Abilities in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous can be used for both dealing damage to Enemies, inflict Status Ailments, buff characters or just protect you.

at level 15, it's a straight up downgrade. it cuts your intense spells bonus in half, by dividing it for the chosen element, but not adding it to the formula for the direct damage side. enemies that are vulnerable to your chosen element only take 1.5x damage for half the spell. and the other half, they just take 1x damage. they would think you might encounter an enemy that is immune or resistant to your chosen element, but the mythic ability lets you bypass all resistance and sometimes immunity, if they remembered to code that particular enemy. in which case, the direct damage isn't going through either, because they are immune to the entire spell, so it doesn't even get to a part where it can bypass any immunities.
