Each accessory contains its unique defensive stats, effects, bonuses, skill checks, and more when they are equipped. This usually affects Armor Class (AC) stats. Armor can be obtained through progressing in the game, completing quests, defeating enemies and speaking to different NPCs.

notes about this: allies hitting does not proc the buff, only enemy hits seem to (aka no goofy nonsense like starting a fight by shooting a dude with magic missile). as well, this *does* work to heal undead allies (or at the very least it works on the lich's skeletal minion). the heal procs on the unit's turn rather than at the start of the next round, like other regeneration effects.
