At 7th level, the skald becomes a master of many different types of lore, and can choose to take 10 on any Knowledge skill check that he has ranks in.

Lore Master is one of many Class Features in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Class Features are generally passive benefits that characters gain based on their Class but can also sometimes be active Skills that you can use in combat. Abilities in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous can be used for both dealing damage to Enemies, inflict Status Ailments, buff characters or just protect you.

Lore Master Information

  • The skill, when activated, baselines a 10 roll for every upcoming Knowledge or Lore skill check. This is a double edged sword, on one hand this helps getting easier skill checks every time:
    • Example 1 (w/ Lore Master activated):
      Arcana skill check DC16
      automatic 10 roll + 14 Knowledge(Arcana) modifier = 24 => skill check (always) successful, impossible to miss
    • Example 2 (w/o Lore Master activated):
      Arcana skill check DC16
      d20 roll + 14 Knowledge(Arcana) modifier = 15-34 => possible to miss
  • On the other hand it cripples the players chances with higher skill checks:
    • Example 3 (with Lore Master activated):
      Nature skill check DC25
      automatic 10 roll + 14 Lore (Nature) modifier = 24 => skill check (always) failed, impossible to hit
    • Example 4 (with Lore Master deactivated):
      Nature skill check DC25
      d20 roll + 14 Lore (Nature) modifier = 15-34 => possible to hit
