Bladebound is a sub-class in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
A select group of magi are called to carry a black blade - a sentient weapon of often unknown and possibly unknowable purpose. This weapon can become both an invaluable silent assistant and a militant parasite.
Bladebound Information
- Base class: Magus
- High saves: Fortitude and Will.
- Class skills: Athletics, Knowledge (Arcana), Knowledge (World), Persuasion, Use Magic Device.
- Proficient with all simple and martial weapons and light armor, and can cast magus spells in light armor without incurring arcane spell failure. Spontaneous caster.
- Because they are spontaneous casters, unlike a normal Magus, Bladebounds can not use metamagic feats with spells while also using spell combat, since their spells become full-round actions. This restriction does not apply when using metamagic rods or the metamagic from Magus Arcana.

Bladebound Abilities
Black Blade
At 1st level, the bladebound magus gains a powerful sentient scimitar called a black blade and can communicate with it telepathically. As a swift action, the magus can manifest the black blade in his hand. The black blade gains a +1 enhancement bonus. At 5th level and every 4 levels thereafter, this bonus increases by +1 (to a maximum of +5 at 17th level).
Sharpening the Black Blade
At 3rd level, as a free action, the bladebound magus can spend 1 point from his arcane pool to grant the black blade a +1 bonus on damage rolls for 1 minute. For every three levels beyond 3rd, this ability gives the black blade another +1 bonus on damage rolls.
Changeable Gist
At 5th level, as a free action, the bladebound magus can spend 1 point from his arcane pool to change the type of all damage dealt by him using the black blade or damage dealt by the black blade by itself to one of the following types: cold, electricity, or fire. He can spend 2 points from his arcane pool to change the damage type to sonic or force. This effect lasts until the start of the magus's next turn.
Independent Ego
At 12th level, the black blade's ego becomes so great that the weapon can fight even without a wielder. As a free action, the bladebound magus can release his grasp on the black blade, allowing it to fight as a separate creature. The black blade gains a damage bonus, as if the magus used the sharpening the black blade ability. It attacks his opponents to the best of its ability for 1 minute.

To manifest the released black blade in his hand, the magus must spend 1 point from his arcane pool. If either the magus or the black blade falls unconscious, the black blade disappears into a nondimensional space, where it can be reached only by a bladebound magus.
Life Drinker
At 19th level, each time the bladebound kills a creature while using the black blade or the black blade kills a creature by itself, the bladebound gains a number of temporary hit points equal to the bladebound's level + 3 (these temporary hit points last until spent or 1 minute, whichever is shorter). If the bladebound already has temporary hit points gained from the black blade, he restores 1 point of his arcane pool instead of gaining temporary hit points. The creature killed must have a number of Hit Dice equal to or greater than half the magus's character level.

The Black Blade is not a light or finesse weapon, making it pretty rubbish!
You cannot have two of them but you can duel wield one with another weapon (and you can choose to summon the black bade into your off hand). Duel wielding disables spell combat OC.
