Finnean is a Companion in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Companions assist the player by joining his/her party and have their own backstories and unique characteristics. They all have their own Classes and equipment they begin with.

 

In-Game Description

 

Finnean Information

  • Finnean is a special mini companion, A talking weapon. He is not in your inventory, talk to him use the bottom right button in inventory menu.
  • Travel with Finnean to uncover the mystery of his past, earn his friendship and unlock his hidden powers. And in return, Finnean will reward you by turning into any weapon of your choosing.
  • As long as Finnean is in the party, he will act like a party member, interrupting conversations, chatting when you stop to set up camp, and so on.
  • After you take Drezen, you may trigger a random encounter that some cultist will claim the that Finnean is their test subject and want to take it. Defeat them and talk to finnean to learn more it's past.

 

Finnean Abilities Weapons

Finnean can morph into following weapons:

  • Finnean can turn into any weapon, what the wielder can use (except natural weapons). If you pick a different companion, the possible weapons list, what it can turn into will change as well.

 Finnean gets the following enchantments:

 - Cold Iron
 - Ghost Touch
 - Enchantment +1
 - Composite / Finesse Wielding / Strength / Monk Weapon (Depending on the chosen form)

How to Recruit Finnean

 

Finnean Related Quests

  • Quest Name 1 takes place in act 3. A random event will occur after entering and leaving Wintersun. Generally on your way from Wintersun to Drezen. You can immediately leave Wintersun after entering and the random event will be ready to trigger while moving toward Drezen from Wintersun. Once in the random event a group of baphomet cultists will ask you for Finnean on behalf of the bladesmith. If you choose to kill the cultists and keep finnean you can speak with him afterwards and he will be upgraded from +1 to +3 and have some nice added effects.
  • Quest Name 2 - takes place in act 5. The bladesmith's workshop will be on the lower left corner of the map. Entering the workshop, you see finneans skull labeled with his name. You have the option of refusing the blademaster access to finnean, giving finnean to the blademaster, or, if you are a lich, you can upgrade him yourself by stripping the personality from his soul. Using the lich process, he becomes a +5 brilliant energy weapon. You can pass a dc40 diplomacy skill check to calm him after he starts panicking due to the circumstances.

      can he boost my unarmed attacks? playing a monk, with a background and focus on fisting... er.. unarmed attacks.

        refusing to give finnean to the blademaster but convincing him to remain as a weapon will upgrade him to a +5 brilliant energy, good-aligned, cold iron version of himself

          If you calm down Finnean and use neutral way to give it Blademaster, he will still go angry and attack you. After you kill Blademaster Finnean still will become +5 energy weapon, but no additional traits (just +5 energy)

            Does anyone know what you need to do to upgrade him? I'm sure there are specific story beats to it, and I want to make sure I don't miss an opportunity.
