City in the Wasteland is a Location in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. City in the Wasteland can be found at Worldwound.

 City in the Wasteland Information

  • The ruins of a big city; it is not known how it came to be here, in the middle of the wasteland. Judging by old Sarkorian maps neither a settlement, nor even a tiny village, has ever been built here.
  • This location triggers an event of swarm attack. You need to successfully track the queen, there are two checks, one to identify the city, and another to determine origin of the swarm, then following it. Which prompts two further checks.
  • If you pick Swarm path you can recruit a Swarm of the Swarm to aid in your fight according to the location event against Deskari and Baphomet. Doing so is an Evil Act, there is also an alternative option for Swarm Mythics to take them into yourself.
  • You can also attempt to Bluff the Swarm as an Ally, but requires a fairly hefty check overall.

You can recruit a Swarm of the Swarm to aid in your fight according to the location event against Deskari and Baphomet. Doing so is an Evil Act, there is also an alternative option for Swarm Mythics to take them into yourself. The text also has something along the lines of aiding the player at a later time. Presumably in later in Act 5, or 6 towards the end game, but seeing as how I chose to not play as the Swarm, further testing and research is required if it has any tangible long term effects, aside from possibly increasing your player Swarm Size count for the associated abilities.

You can also attempt to Bluff the Swarm as an Ally, but requires a fairly hefty check overall. I was playing with Toybox and had the Unfair difficulty stacked x8 - as such I do not know the base check on Unfair and lower. Doing so likely has backfiring consequences however due to misinformation and Deskari being what he is, and the Swarm being what IT is.

This is if course if you can successfully track the queen, which has to be done during the first set of choices. Going anywhere else, and then back to the origin choices removes the options to find the Swarm and its Queen for the above conversation. There are two checks, one to identify the city, and another to determine origin of the swarm, then following it. Which prompts two further checks, three in the case of Bluffing the Queen. Again, I do not know the base line DC.
