The Price of Loyalty Walkthrough
In Act V, Greybor will invite you to travel to remote location.
Once you reach there, you will control Greybor, and search for the right location for an ambush. Once you interact with the right spots, talk to the leader of Demon assassins.
If you have finished Greybor's personal quests and won his loyalty. It turns out all these are entrapment set by you and Greybor. Defeat the demons, loot the bodies, then travel back to Drezen.

Oh gee, thanks, I'll just do that real quick as a wizard who knew it was a trap thanks to Greybor but somehow didn't have time to precast spells (but I did prior to ambushing the dragon?). And despite the table flip being a complete surprise, nope, I'll just go last in the initiative order since I didn't take some obligatory (but not obvious) mythic and regular feats, abilities, or class dips, to either not die or go first.
Come on. This would make sense if Greybor actually wanted me dead. But he doesn't, and and we managed to surprise them, I expected some sort of benefit beyond "Greybor the Easily Slain helps you".
The fact that even reloading involves skipping a lot of mandatory dialogue and cut scenes every single time just makes this even more frustrating.
For anyone struggling with this, from what I've gathered, the only real solution is to savescum until you win initiative. Another option is that you could take that Mythic ability that makes you invincible for two rounds if your HP hits 0, just make sure to bring healing potions with you because otherwise you'll die after two rounds (and one round must be spent teleporting away if you're a squishy, like if you were some spellcaster). And finally, you could just play with the intent to minmax rather than experiment and have fun (so no mono-spellcaster builds because of this and other reasons).
