One Final Breath is a Quest in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Quests can provide unique adventuring experience, as well as powerful gears and treasures. Some quests are time-limited and some can only be completed with certain companions.

 

One Final Breath Information

A whimsical combination of circumstances has bound together the fates of Count Arendae, the Commander, Inquisitor "Hawkblade" Liotr, and the unknown entity that first appeared at Heaven's Edge over ten years ago. This knot is impossibly tangled, but the time has come to untie it - or simply cut through it. The inquisitor has found a description of a ritual that could be used to weaken and capture the mysterious entity. But before that, all the participants must go through one more harrowing experience.

 

One Final Breath Objectives

 

Bring Daeran to the place marked by the inquisitor

  • Liotr is busy preparing the ritual at a remote location, so that if the otherworldly entity somehow manages to break free, no innocents will be harmed. The Count must be brought here to meet his fate.

 

Do not allow the Other to suspect an ambush

  • The new goal is to convince Daeran and the entity watching through his eyes that the Commander has conspired with the inquisitor and brought the Count to his execution. So long as the Other does not suspect a trap, it will try to protect its 'gateway.'

 

Defeat the Other

  • The Commander has already had encounters with foes of immense power both on Golarion and on other planes. But the enemy he is about to face now is unlike any of them.

 

Decide Daeran's fate

  • It would seem the end of the Other is far from the end of this story. It is time to talk to the Count.

 

 

One Final Breath Walkthrough

  • You'll choose between intimidate, bluff (true), and bluff (lie) multiple times to ensure "the Other" doesn't suspect anything.
    • Once you get through multiple rolls you'll fight "the Other,"
    • but you won't be able to kill it as a dialog option will pop up after getting it low.
  • The top two dialog options are questions, and the bottom two are final choices. 
    •  (EVIL) Don't kill "the Other," Daeren will get his head taken
      • You will get the permanent bonus "Incorporeal Charm" which provides a Deflection AC bonus equal to your charisma score (does not stack with other sources of Deflection AC), and +10 Concentration.
    • Killing it you'll receive another dialog plus 180k experience.
      • After you kill "the Other" you'll decide Daerens Fate.
        • Kill Daeren
        • hand him over to the inquisition for a horrible fate
        • or fight the inquisition

  • Side with The Other can grant you Incorporeal Charm (+10 concentration, AC bonus equal to charisma modifier (deflection))
  • To get Daeran to trust you (so that he won't kill the inquisitors after choosing to send him to the tribunal), you need to to actually reveal your intentions to him, even through Hawkblade's protests. Just choose the bottom options, but you will still have to defeat the Other then

      Picking the bottom option does not actually impact his trust of you - it just makes the fight a LOT harder. (the other gets the suprise round, some buffs and about 20 more AC)
      He still says exactly the same as if you successfully lied or intimidated during the dialoge (don't know about telling the truth - haven't tried that)

        the evil option gift does work now for sure. i tested the evil option to see what i got. its main appeal if you aren't a spell caster is a deflection bonus equal to your charisma modifier. deflection is the one given by rings and certain mythic class holy auras, so unequipping my ring and not having any aura as a trickster, the pathetic +2 deflection bonus showed up. deflection doesn't stack, so anything stronger will override it and it wont show up.

          daeran seems to be a walking-talking xp bank. i ignored the advice of the inquisitor and told daeran i knew everything on the streets of drezen and got teleported to the pocket plane which looks similar to demon girl's blank dream. i let my velociraptor with 10 attacks run wild on him and killed him in 1 turn. over a million xp for me, with only active members receiving xp turned on. took me from 16 to 18th level. when i exited the portal, daeran burst in what looked like phantom blood and stood still. interacting with him resulted in me looting his corpse... i guess he's dead now. i assume it's just a fail state and there's probably not a quest to un-stone statue him. so i'll reload. but if you don't care about him, bring him along and slaughter him when you can. i haven't been to the abyss yet, so 1,105,920 xp is quite the boon so early, if you can beat him that is. i'm going to bump up the difficulty and see how hard he is to beat at higher settings for fun.

            On angel path you can kill the other with storm of justice, eye of the sun 8 and 10 th level spells respectively, Sheelah can channel energy, Scorthing ray or hellfire blast can damage it too.
